WUHAN, Hubei province - After another ugly game plagued by Qatar's continuous deliberate fouling, Iran's head coach, Veselin Matic, said it was an insult to fans of the sport of basketball.

"From the sport's aspect, it's not good. But we don't know what's behind it," said Matic after his squad beat Qatar, 40-4, in a game which ended prematurely when four of the five Qatari players fouled out with 2 min, 18 sec left in the first quarter of the Asian Championship match on Friday night.

It was the second game that the Qatar side had purposely fouled out four players in protest of FIBA's banning of five of its naturalized players. It did the same thing in its opening match against Uzbekistan.

To further express their displeasure of the ruling, all the members of the Qatar team left the venue immediately after the game and its head coach, Ali Fakhroo, refused to attend the post-game press conference.

"Maybe they have the right to (do this) or not, but it's not good for the people who buy the tickets or for the media. As these people come for the game, but they don't have any information about what's going on. We (Iran) were also penalized by this as we only had about 10 minutes to practice on the main court (after Qatar fouled out). We feel sad about it," Matic said.
