During the Chinese New Year holiday from Feb 9 to 15,a total of 10,727 flights took off and landed in Hongqiao and Pudong international airports, a year-on-year increase of 5.4 percent. Passenger throughput totaled 1.41 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent.

On average, 1,532 flights took off and landed per day with 200,600 passengers.

Statistic show that the take-off and landing numbers and passengers flow were at their lowest on Feb 10, the first day of the lunar calendar. The numbers rebounded from Feb 13 and reached their peak on Feb 15, hitting 240,000 passengers.

Considering the frequent rain and snow during the holiday, Pudong and Hongqiao have put more effort toward clearing ice, guaranteeing safe and timely take-offs and landings for passengers.
