Travel tips for Spring Festival

Spring Rush’s peak period will occur next week. For the convenience of passengers, Shanghai airports are providing some travel tips to cope with the situation.

Tips for information inquiry

● Please call the airport hotline 96990 if you need any advisory services related to air travel. You can also call the service hotline of the specific airline to get flight information. The hotline number can be found on the Internet.

● After arriving at the airport, you can go to the help desks in the departure lounge and arrival hall or the service volunteers for help.

● If you want to get more information, please check the official website of Shanghai airport, www.shairport.com, or the airline’s website. http://www.shairport.com/chn200912050841563/

Tips for special services

● For the handicapped, elderly and pregnant, Shanghai’s two airports have opened a “green pass” and offer a package of services free-of-charge. Please call the hotline 96990 in advance if you need it.

● For unaccompanied minors (children between 5 and 12 years old who have to take the plane on their own), parents should buy tickets and apply for service at least 3 days in advance.

● Before boarding, parents should fill-in and check the contact information of the receiving party at the final destination with officials and not leave until the plane takes off.

Special notice

● Starting December 2012 in Pudong Airport, Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines have moved to Terminal 2. Shanghai Airlines has moved to Terminal 1. Please check the flight information beforehand to avoid missing the plane.

● Starting January 1, 2013, only second-generation ID cards are acceptable for check-in. Passengers without a second-generation ID card can get a temporary ID card in the local police station or the airport. More information can be found at:

Special tips for luggage

● Please pay attention to luggage weight and size allowances. You have to pay an extra luggage fee if your bags are overweight.

● Don’t bring prohibited items such as flammable, poisonous, corrosive and ferromagnetic goods. Carry-on liquids are limited to 100ml, and the total capacity should be no more than 1,000ml.

● If you want to bring a lithium battery, please put it in a plastic bag and make sure the rated power of the battery is within 160Wh.

● Do not bring along baggage you do not own as others may take opportunities to check prohibited items and other dangerous goods.
