Chongqing is a typical city with hills and rivers. Yangtze River and Jialing River run around the main city. Chongqing cannot develop without further bridge construction.

Lijiatuo Yangtze River Bridge

The Lijiatuo Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Yangtze River in Chongqing. Completed in 1995, it has a total span of 1,288 meters, placing it among the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. The bridge has four lanes running along it and connects the Banan District south of the Yangtze River and the Jiulongpo District to the north. [Photo/liangjiang.gov.cn]

Caiyuanba Bridge

The Caiyuanba Bridge is an arch bridge running across the Yangtze River in Chongqing. It took nearly four years to build the bridge, which cost 2 billion yuan ($291.62 million). Completed in 2007, the arch spans 420 meters ranking it the second longest arch bridge in China. The bridge is a structural blend of tunnels and flyovers with a unique arch and cable structure. It carries six lanes of traffic and two tracks of the Chongqing Rail Transit Line 3 between the Nanan District south of the Yangtze River and the Yuzhong District to the north. Egongyan Bridge

Egongyan Bridge is a suspension bridge which crosses the Yangtze River in Chongqing. Completed in 2000, the bridge has a main span of 600 meters and a total length of 7,270 meters. It carries six lanes of traffic between the Nan’an District east of the Yangtze River and the Jiulongpo District to the west. [Photo/liangjiang.gov.cn]
