Dana Incorporated (Chongqing) announced to build a manufacturing and assembly factory in the Liangjiang New Area's Yufu Industrial Development Zone on June 8.

Dana Incorporated, an American worldwide supplier of drivetrain, sealing and thermal-management technologies, has currently opened 14 factories in China. The factory will cover an area of 7,500 square meters and is expected to be put into production in 2020. The factory will provide advanced drivetrain products for Chongqing-based Chang'an Ford Automobile Co Ltd.

Dana will invest a total of 160 million yuan ($23 million) in the new factory, and employ more than 130 staff members by 2020. Once complete, the factory is expected to reach an annual turnover of 600 million yuan.

The factory will focus on developing Spicer intelligent internet technologies to promote fuel efficiency in SUVs, passenger cars and crossover vehicles.

"We are excited to bring the newest all-wheel drive technology to China and step into Chongqing for the first time. The city has great advantages in skilled labor, a mature supplier network and high-efficient transportation," said Bob Pyle, president of Dana Light-vehicle Group, at the groundbreaking ceremony.
