Liangjiang New Area absorbs Beibu New Area

The Liangjiang New Area and Beibu New Area Cadres Conference was held in Chongqing on Feb 24, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.

At the conference the party’s Chongqing Municipal Government decided to adjust the management system of Liangjiang New Area by incorporating Beibu New Area into Liangjiang New Area. Beibu New Area will no longer exist.

Huang Qifan, deputy secretary of the Party’s Chongqing Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Municipality, addressed the conference. He recognized the past achievements of both Beibu New Area and Liangjiang New Area. He noted that adjusting the management mechanism of Liangjiang New Area is good for resource allocation and enhancing administrative efficiency.

Huang required that Liangjiang New Area should take good advantage of the favorable policies as the first inland tariff-bonded area. He suggested Liangjiang focus on five aspects: reform, opening up, innovation, strategic industrial development and trade of services.

Ling Mingyue, director of the Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, noted that the area will work hard on management mechanism adjustment to secure the sound and rapid development of the area.
