Modest hero quiet about saving quake victims

A foreign teacher working at Chengdu University of Science and Technology in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, saved eight quake victims three years ago, but his Chinese colleagues only recently found out about his heroics.

Yang Wenyou, deputy headmaster at Bailu Town Primary School, lost his wife when the devastating Wenchuan earthquake hit the town in Sichuan province on May 12, 2008. But he helped saved hundreds of students, and today he is still working to help children feel safe.
