A special investigation on rural health clinic construction was processed in the city of Sanmenxia, Central China’s Henan province, by an investigation team led by Yao Long and Li Junjiang, vice-chairmen of the Sanmenxia municipal committee of the CPPCC.
Starting March 5, the two-day investigation visited rural health clinics in the city’s Lushi county, Linbao county-level city, Shanxian county, Mianchi county and Hubin district.
The team learned about the clinic facilities, equipment investment, talent team, management system and urban-rural health integration construction through questionnaires, reports and a symposium. Attention was paid to measures to strengthen rural health clinic construction. Rural population mobility, new type urbanization construction and rural public medical needs are posing new challenges to the clinics.
At the symposium, a report on the municipality’s rural health clinics was given, followed with advice and suggestions on how to improve rural health and medical conditions to enhance the level of basic rural public health services.
The investigation team stressed the follow-up investigation. In addition, they urged the promotion of rural health pilot clinics and the improvement of infrastructures and related mechanisms in the field to create safe, efficient, convenient and low-cost health and basic medical services for the public.
