Budweiser becomes PCCA new partner

Dutch born Chinese racing driver Tung Ho-Pin will lead the Budweiser Team Starchase to compete in the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA), announced Budweiser on April 9 in Shanghai.

The 30-year-old talented racer is the first Chinese race car driver to participate in the Indy 500 Mile Race. He joined the Renault lineup in 2010, becoming the first driver of Chinese descent to be named for a Formula One team.

"My goal is to contend for championship. In this season I hope to surpass my limits and challenge higher speed together with the Budweiser Team Starchase," said Tung.

As the star racing driver of the team, Tung Ho-Pin said accuracy and team work are most important qualities of racing drivers, "I will try my best to pursue higher achievement in my life as well as in the race tracks, just like perfection is always the pursuit of Budweiser."

The newly-founded Budweiser Team Starchase is operated by the famous PCCA Starchase team, which has won prizes in 2009 and 2010 PCCA championship. The unique experience and excellent professional knowledge are believed to help the new team make way to the top place.

The 2012 PAAC championship celebrates its 10th season as Asia's premier one-make championship.

This season witnesses the most competitive lineup in PCCA's history. Altogether eight race car teams and 27 veteran professional drivers will compete in identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars across 11 rounds on five challenging circuits which range from Shanghai to Singapore.

The first round of competition at Shanghai International Circuits in this April will be the support race of 2012 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.

"This championship will be the most exciting competition among superior racing divers," said Mr. Helmut Broeker, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche China.
