Sina.com, a major Internet portal, announced Wednesday evening that Chengdu Issues, the official micro blog of the Chengdu municipal government information office in Sichuan province, won its influential government microblogging award for the year 2011.

It was one of the six government organizations winning the laureate. The other five are the Yinchuan Publicity Department, Nanjing Issues, Peaceful Beijing, Nanhai Weili, Diplamtic PHS, organizers said.

The Chengdu municipal government information office launched its official micro blog at Sina Weibo on June 23, 2010.

It has issued more than 4,000 pieces of news ever since, and the official micro blog has more than 2.5 million fans, according to Xu Guangjun, an official with the Chengdu municipal government information office.

Sina.com also announced its awards for the most influential film cast, the most popular film and the most influential brand in microblogging yesterday evening.
