Investment and trade up 114% at 18th Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair

Investment and trade projects worth tens of billions of RMB have been confirmed at a recent international fair held in Shaanxi on Nov 9.
The 18th Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair attracted 1.6 million visitors over its 5 day duration, and included exhibits from countries that included Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The event has been deemed a success due to the increase in investment and trade projects negotiated or signed off on at the fair, including 160 contracts signed and 106 agreements achieved. The overall value of the project contracts amounts to 56.58 billion RMB, a 114% increase on last year.
572 of China's newest technological achievements, as well as patent information, were released by organizations such as the China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 16 other universities, and three research institutes of agriculture. The number of issued patents saw an increase of 40 percent compared to last year.
25 ministerial-level officials and Ministers of Agriculture from 13 developing countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America attended a seminar dedicated to developing countries' modern agriculture and economic management, which was sponsored by the Department of Commerce and hosted at the Yangling International Exchange Center.
This seminar focused on the main problems faced by developing countries' modern agriculture and sustainable development, and included in-depth discussion of common methods and means.
