The Wenjiang district in Chengdu, Sichuan province, will promote the use of 102,000 energy-saving lighting products among its residents this year.

According to the district energy office, the government finance will offer subsidies for its urban and rural residents buying the products.

A resident who buys an energy-saving lamp can receive a 50 percent price subsidy in line with the lamp's bidding price, the office says.
