It was reported on August 7 by Japanese Economic News that with a 50-50 investment, Japan's Kintetsu Worldwide Express (hereinafter referred to as Kintestu) and Qingdao Bangda Logistics Company jointly established Chengdu Kintetsu Logistics Company in Chengdu.

The company is mainly engaged in transporting bonded electronic components from China's costal areas to inland motor manufacturing plants.

Due to the increasing supply of components to inland plants with comparatively low labor price, Kintetsu intends to expand its transport network to meet the needs of the manufacturing industry.

The company started its business of transportation between Shanghai and Chengdu on August 3. It has five trucks with a cargo capacity of 10 tons each running between the two cities (48 hours). While the trucks from Shanghai to Chengdu mainly carry electronic components, the returning trucks transport manufactured goods to Shanghai, which is both a market and a base for exports.

Prior to the establishment of this business, expensive chartered trucks were operating services between the two cities. It is expected that there will be more demand for the transport of goods from the recent upgrade and expansion of the inland transport network.
