1.Tianchi (Heavenly Lake)

Tianchi (Heavenly Lake) is an alpine lake in Xinjiang, Northwest China lying on the north side of the Bogda Shan range of the Tianshan Mountains, about 30 kilometers south of Fukang City and 45 kilometers east of Urumqi. The lake is 1,907 meters above sea level, covering 4.9 square kilometers. Surrounded by mountains, the crescent shaped lake is named “Pearl of Tian Mountains” with clear water shining like jade. Luxuriant spruces and cedars turn red in autumn, making the lake more dazzling against the blue sky and snow peaks in the distance.
