Comment on "Time to have a new view of China" (chinadaily.com.cn, May 7)
Like Rome was not built in a day, China's problems would not go away with a stroke of the pen. It is still a long way off to that final desire of being prosperous and powerful. As it is, China is moving very fast and it will get there whatever it takes.
China's progress can only be made possible by its leaders and people with the understanding of the people of the world.
A growing and stable China is in the interest of the world. Developed nations should not fear China's rise so as to seek to disrupt China's peaceful development. A weak China, because of its size and population and present status will only mean a weak world.
So let all be real and practical.
