Comment on "Wen tells youths to be down-to-earth" (China Daily, May 5)

Since arriving in Beijing around 6 years ago, I've witnessed many changes in China. Apart from the obvious examples of the modern buildings and infrastructure; a more subtle difference can be found in the greater self-confidence and pride of the Chinese in their country.

As Premier Wen noted, China has many challenges ahead. It is hoped that the greater self-confidence will allow for the unrestrained endeavor and commitment to the advancement of China.

A "Can do" attitude made the US the most prosperous country in the last century. The same attitude will make China great in the coming centur[y|ies].
