Save money to pay people
Comment on "Even modern cities need distinction" (China Daily, April 29)
I like Paris, not because there are more skyscrapers, but because it has preserved more old buildings. In China, we destroy many old structures to build higher buildings one after another. It not only ruins many historical heritages, but also wastes huge amounts of money.
If the government saves all that money to raise people's salaries, offer benefits to the poor and close the rich-poor gap, Chinese people will live better lives.
