Be aware of online predators
Comment on "More Chinese women duped to be drug mules" (Jan 28, China Daily)
The article written by Cui Jia is very informative and educational. I was in shock to learn that some young women have become an easy target for transporting drugs into China. These young women were manipulated into accepting illegal packages from their online boyfriends.
After reading this article, I have decided to tell all my friends to be careful when chatting with Internet strangers. Hopefully young women in China will learn a lesson from this and become smarter and wiser Net users.
I think there should be more education in schools on the Internet and its potential dangers around the world.
I feel children and teens need to be taught how to utilize the Internet properly. In the United States, students are warned in school and at home about online dangers. A small lesson from parents and teachers can go a long way.
There was even a show called "How to Catch a Predator", where a hidden camera investigates men who used sexual online content with children and teens.
It is important to monitor children and teens' Internet use and always be aware of who you chat with. Don't be duped by online predators.

World-enriching donation project
Comment on " We are with you, Haiti" (Jan 16, China Daily)
After reading the article regarding the relief efforts being provided to Haiti by China, the United Nations and other countries around the world, I began to ponder the enormous economic impact China can have on worldwide relief efforts.
The US, with a population of more than 308 million, provides enormous financial contributions to disasters worldwide.
China, with a population of approximately 1.3 billion, could easily surpass the contributions from the US if each citizen of China was financially able to donate a buck.
If this idea was taken to a further level and on a global scale, a yearly donation to the UN of one US dollar from each person worldwide could easily aid disasters of the world as they occur.
This is a dream, which would require all the people of the world to be gainfully employed. Perhaps we should address our efforts to global economic security and growth. This in turn would make funding for natural disasters easier and more efficient.
While this might seem like a pipe dream, it is a worthwhile goal. The UN would be a perfect vehicle.
