Around 500 historical relics from eight provinces and regions went on display at an exhibition at the Yunnan Provincial Museum in Kunming on Nov 10.

The relics come from provinces all over China, including Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Qinghai, and Inner Mongolia, Guangxi Zhuang and Tibet autonomous regions. The provinces include what once were major spots along the Ancient Tea and Horse Road – an ancient trade route that linked up with the Silk Road.

Divided into seven parts, the exhibition displays the development of ancient traffic in West China and the close connection between the Ancient Tea and Horse Road and other two ancient trade routes – the Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road. Landscapes in Yunnan, Sichuan, Tibet and Qinghai are characterized through exhibited items.

The exhibition will be on show in Yunnan until Feb 14, 2016. It will then move to other provinces and regions.
