The National Anti-drug Office and China Narcotics Control Foundation carried out an Anti-drug Publicity Campaign in Pu'er, Yunnan province, from Sept 18-19.

A number of Chinese artists joined in the campaign to help raise awareness of the danger of drugs.

During the campaign, a symposium was also held between artists and staff members from the city's public security bureau. A senior from the bureau introduced the city's anti-drug measures and results of anti-drug work.

After the symposium, artists visited a detoxification center in Pu'er's Simao district and communicated with drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation. Artists painted murals in the center to support the city's anti-drug works.

According to the campaign's sponsor, the anti-drug campaign was held from Sept 12-21 in different cities and provinces in China, including Chongqing municipality, Sichuan province and Yunnan province.
