Yunnan Nationalities University, Yunnan’s key university located in Kunming, launched the 7th folk customs cultural week on Nov 14 with the three most famous dances of the Yi ethnic group performed at the opening gala.

The activity, organized by the university’s communist youth league, aims to promote ethnic group unity and campus culture.

"Ethnic cultural week has not only strengthened ties among different ethnic groups but also showcased the cultural diversity of Yunnan province," said Qu Rui, secretary of the youth league committee.
