The 2014 Lancang-Mekong National Culture and Arts Festival opened in Xishuangbanna on the evening of December 18. Artists from six neighboring countries, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Thailand, joined the festival and presented a performance on stage.

The festival, themed "Friendship and Prosperity", hopes to provide a platform for cultural and art exchange among countries and strengthen friendship.
