The Yunnan Leisure and Health Preservation Industry Association was established in Kunming on Sept 8, according to ynci.cn.

Based on its unique natural environment and rich tourism resources, Yunnan hopes to promote the development of ecological tourism together with recreation and the health preservation industry.

As the pace of life in modern society has quickened, there is a growing desire to get closer to nature, live healthier and enjoy life. Yunnan, with several different climates and diverse terrain, offers ideal conditions to this end.

The association is a professional and non-profit organization formed by health preservation experts, related enterprises, and social celebrities in Yunnan. Hua Zefei, former deputy director of the Yunnan culture department, was elected as the first president.

Hua said that they will conduct scientific research; give related advice in terms of policy-making and legislation; collect health preserving cultural materials; and promote domestic and international cooperation. The association seeks to enhance the public service system of leisure and health preservation in Yunnan and accelerate industrial development.
