Updated: 2013-08-26

Yunnan Ethnic Village will offer themed lantern shows and a 3D water-screen laser show every night from Sept 18 to Nov 18, according to a press conference for the 2013 Kunming Colored Lantern Carnival.

The activity, sponsored by Yunnan Zhouyang Culture Communication Co and Yunnan Ethnic Village Co, will consist of five interesting themes and establish 83 lighting scenic spots with distinct regional features. Citizens can also see lanterns in shapes of familiar cartoon characters like Pleasant Goat, Kung Fu Panda and Sponge Bob.

The lantern show is based on the cultures of 26 ethnic groups in Yunnan, combining traditional arts with modern beauty. Sponsors hope to create nighttime festivities in Kunming and provide citizens and visitors with a place to have fun. During Mid-Autumn Festival, the 40-meter wide and 20-meter high 3D water-screen laser show, model shows, singing and dancing performances, and street dances will bring audiences a fantastic experience.

The ticket price for Yunnan Ethnic Village will remain the same during the carnival. Sponsors will coordinate to provide enough parking and buses for the convenience of guests.
