The cosplay costume competition of the sixth Kunming Animation Festival opened at Qicai Metown Shopping Mall, Kunming, on July 24.

A total of 120 groups from Kunming, Qujing, Yuxi, Wenshan and other cities took part in the competition. Each group has three to 30 members. The participants are mainly students from middle schools or colleges and office workers. All the teams will sing, dance and perform dramas in the preliminary contest from July 24 and 29. The winners will enter intermediary and final contests at Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center during the first Yunnan Cultural Industry Expo from Aug 9 to 14. The competition offers first, second and third prizes. There will also be four single prizes for best performance, best props, best visual effects and most popular group.

The competition attracted thousands of citizens on the first day. Around 30,000 people will come to the intermediary and final contests daily, according to previous events.
