Tai'an celebrates Cultural and Natural Heritage Day

A wide range of intangible cultural heritage items were displayed in Taishan district, Ta'an city, Shandong province on June 12 in celebration of its Cultural and Natural Heritage Day.

More than 20 local intangible cultural heritage items were performed on site, drawing much attention, such as traditional tofu making technique, Taishan gourd carving technique, Taishan paper-cutting and Young's armor restoration technique.

The traditional tofu making technique has been included into the fifth batch of the national intangible cultural heritage items.

Taishan district has currently one national intangible cultural heritage projects, four provincial intangible cultural heritage items, and 38 municipal intangible cultural heritage items.

Officials said the district aims to raise public awareness on intangible cultural heritage protection and achieve innovative development of excellent Chinese traditional culture, through the activity.
