High-tech industries see strong growth in Tai'an

High-tech industries in Tai'an, Shandong province saw strong growth in the first half of this year, local media reported.

The number of high-tech enterprises in the city has increased from 336 to 378 over the past year.

In the first half of this year, industrial enterprises above designated size in the city had realized a high-tech output value of 39.15 billion yuan ($5.72 billion), accounting for 46.67 percent of the industrial output value above designated size.

Specifically, the high-tech output value of the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry was 9.89 billion yuan, while that of the chemical manufacturing industry was 7.35 billion yuan.

The high-tech output value of non-metallic mineral products hit 4.58 billion yuan, while special-purpose equipment manufacturing was valued at 2.61 billion yuan.

The high-tech output of Ningyang county and the High-tech Zone were higher than citywide average.
