A conference focusing on scientific and technological exchange in Shandong province was held in Tai'an on Aug 12.

Officials from the China Association for Science and Technology, Party secretary of Tai'an Cui Honggang, and more than 20 academicians and experts attended the meeting.

A total of 46 project agreements were signed during the conference, including 13 from Tai'an involving the healthcare and nonferrous metal industries.

In recent years, the Tai'an government has been ramping up efforts to boost scientific and technological progress.

The widespread application of modern farming techniques has helped farmers increase yields and reduce damage to the environment.

In addition, digital technology is generating new economic potential in a diverse array of industries via a cloud platform, internet sales, and online living.

Cui said that many of the innovation resources of the China Association for Science and Technology were first applied in Tai'an, which has helped promote the high-quality development of the city.

Tai'an plans to offer more supportive policies and services to create a better environment for professionals and seek cooperation in more fields, Cui added.
