Japanese medical institution delegation visits Tai'an

Cui Honggang, Party secretary of Tai'an, met with a delegation from Japan's Kameda Medical Center led by Professor Toyama Masaaki on July 3 in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province. The two sides held talks on health development cooperation.

Cui extended his warm welcome to the delegation. He said that with the development of China's economy and society, as well as the improvement of people's living standards, the public's demand for health services is increasing day by day.

Cui said that Tai'an boasts a beautiful ecological environment, abundant natural resources, and advantages from its convenient location. The city has been fostering the health industry as a new driver for economic growth.

Through a series of new business forms including "health + tourism," "health + internet," and "health + sports," the city aims to promote the cluster development of the health industry and strive to build it into a pillar industry of Tai'an.

As Professor Toyama Masaaki is a famous medical expert in Japan, who is highly accomplished in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and is currently working on the prevention and treatment of cancer, Cui expressed his hope that through this visit, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in hospital management, as well as personnel and technology exchange, especially in the fields of disease prevention and cancer prevention.

Professor Masaaki thanked Cui for his warm reception, and introduced his research direction, expressing his willingness to apply his research results in China and cooperate with the relevant departments of Tai'an in cancer prevention and treatment to benefit cancer patients.

During their stay in Tai'an, the delegation also made field visits to Tai'an Public Health School, Tai'an City Central Hospital, and Taishan Medical Care Center.
