Beauty and delicacy of Dongping featured in CCTV documentary

A 45-minute episode featuring the beautiful landscapes and gourmet food of Dongping, a county-level city in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province recently broadcasted in China's Central Television 4 (CCTV4), as part of the documentary series to introduce domestic and foreign cities.

Komo, a waterside city in Lombardy, Italy was also introduced in the episode as a foreign comparison to Doping.

Titled "lakeside cities", the episode was elaborately planned, filmed and produced for more than two months.

The episode highlights some landmarks and their history and culture in Dongping, such as the Dongping Lake and the Daicun Dam, to describe the affections that local people have for the city.

Local delicacies such as sesame seed cake, freshwater mussel and Dongping porridge are also promoted in the documentary.

The documentary helps more people learn about the picturesque and pleasant city of Dongping, said a local official.

It will help lure more tourists to Dongping and increase the city's international profile, he added.
