Tai'an ready to welcome world's top photographers

More than 300 masters of photography from more than 90 countries will visit Tai'an on Aug 9 and 10 be part of this year's FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art) Photo Meeting. The photographers will conduct a series of photographic activities based on cultural experiences, according to a press conference held on May 5 in Beijing.

Two themed cultural tourism promotions, "Charming Tai'an" and "Blessed Land of Mount Tai", will be rolled out in the meantime by the Tai'an government to show the world the deep history and culture of the ancient city as well as its beautiful natural landscape and unique, rich and varied tourism resources.

"Tai'an will provide full service and support to the FIAP Photo Meeting and take advantage of the opportunity to promote the city as a tourist destination with unique cultural charm," said Li Huamin of the city's tourism development committee.

Tai'an is one of Shandong's world-renowned cultural cities with superb natural scenery, abundant mineral resources, convenient transportation and economic development advantages. A cradle of Chinese civilization, Mount Tai was the first Chinese site to be listed as a World Natural and Cultural Heritage and is also a world geological park.

Supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in China, the Fifth FIAP Photo Meeting is jointly hosted by the FIAP, the Shandong Tourism Development Committee, the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, and the Shandong International Culture Exchange Center. It will last from Aug 8 to 14, and will include a "Photo & Video Exhibition of People, Landscapes and World Heritage Sites on the 'Belt and Road'".
