In the past four years, circuit courts of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) have concluded 28,494 cases, with an annual average settlement rate of over 90 percent, according to data released by the SPC on Nov 23.

Approved by the Party Central Committee, the SPC launched the first and the second circuit courts in January 2015 and the third, fourth and fifth at the end of 2016.

The circuit courts have focused on judicial reforms including local settling of disputes and easing of litigation procedures. They have also piloted reform of judicial accountability.

According to the SPC, different circuit court judges' responsible are now clearer and stricter trial supervision has been adopted to improve the quality of case hearings.
