According to traditions, in some villages in Kyrgyzstan, men are permitted to have two or more wives. The film tells the story of 45-year-old truck driver Karabas, who is childish, selfish and addicted to gambling and alcohol, and lives with his two wives – Zhipara and Turganbyubyu. He is self-important and the whole family depends on Zhipara for money.
One day, Zhipara tells Karabas that she has found their long-lost son –– Uluk. Karabas is very excited and rushes to her, depressing his younger and pregnant wife –– Turganbyubyu. Karabas faces a dilemma over whether to continue with his old lifestyle or choose one of his wives. The family later decides to go to Suleiman Mountain, a spiritual place, in order to pray.
