Liaoning-Taiwan Trade Forum held in Taipei

The Liaoning-Taiwan Trade Forum was held in Taipei on Feb 16, 2011. More than 800 people from both sides attended the forum.

Chen Zhenggao, governor of Liaoning Province, made a brief speech on the cooperation between the two sides at the forum, and predicted that this visit would bring Liaoning more business opportunities.

Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), said in his statement, “The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) will come into effect this year. With the economies of both sides highly complementary, there is a promising prospect for economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.”

Chiang Pin-kung, chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, said at the forum, “Liaoning is rich in both natural resources and industrial foundations. So we can expect a bright future for the cooperation and communication between these two sides.”

After the forum, Chen, Lien and Chiang attended the opening ceremony of Liaoning Culture Week.
