In recent years, Inner Mongolia has made earnest efforts to develop its cloud computing industry, and a conference aiming to boost the regional big data sector will commence in Beijing on Nov 7.

By the end of 2015, the region owned 700,000 large servers for data processing, ranking first in this field across China. Giant Internet companies such as Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu and Jingdong have opened branches in Inner Mongolia.

Since 2011, Inner Mongolia has housed cloud computing bases for three big telecom operators; China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, in Hohhot. Huawei and ZTE have built cloud computing centers in Ulanqab and Ordos respectively.
