Nanyang's first prefabricated building manufacturing base was established on Dec 5, with the signing of an agreement between Changsha-based Broad Homes Industrial International and Tanghe county.
The project's first phase will cost between 250 and 300 million yuan ($38-45 million), with four production lines and a workshop in its 200 mu (13 hectares) area.
The base, which will produce prefabricated buildings for housing in rural areas, is expected to produce an annual profit of between 20 and 40 million yuan when it comes into operation, as well as provide employment in the area.

Broad Homes specializes in providing integrated solutions of precast concrete construction and develops prefabricated buildings with advanced architectural technologies from Germany, America and France.
Prefabricated buildings consist of ready-made components which can be transported and assembled on site, reducing construction costs and increasing efficiency.
Zhang Mingti, vice mayor of Nanyang, said the manufacturing base would help to modernize the local construction and architecture industry. He added that preferential policies and services would be offered to Broad Homes so that the project could be completed as soon as possible.
According to Zhou Tianlong, head of Tanghe, the signing of the project marks another achievement of the county's endeavors to attract investment.
