Peach blossom art festival opens in Jinwan village

The Xinye Jinwan Peach Blossom Art Festival got underway at Jinwan village in Xinye county, Nanyang, Henan province, on March 22.

The peach blossom festival includes peach orchard sightseeing, folk culture experiences, fruit-picking and nursery stock planting, and aims to promote the unique natural and cultural qualities of Xinye county.

The Jinwan village is among the first pilot villages for rural construction in Henan province. It is also a demonstration site of Nanyang's rural tourism and one of Nanyang's top 10 beautiful villages. Its high quality peach planting area has increased from 1,500 mu (100 hectares) to nearly 10,000 mu with a net income of 6,000 yuan ($924) for each mu.

Jinwan village receives about 450,000 tourists annually during the full-blossom period and picking stage, yielding tourism revenue of 32 million yuan.
