Central China agricultural products competition for food quality

The city of Nanyang, Henan province has got its agriculture and animal husbandry bureaus, and the agricultural product quality safety association to organize a quality-agricultural-product event to select the best people in food safety, and the best agricultural enterprises, this month.

The other purpose of the competition -- which covers a wide range of food, such as grains, oils, meat, eggs, dairy products, bee products, tea, fish, vegetables and fruits, forest products, Chinese medicine, and silkworm products -- is to support the city in its efforts to become a leader in the agriculture and organic foods industry, and to encourage every enterprise in the city to take part.

The selection committee says that the participants need to pass all quality tests, meet all national food standards, have good market sales and no records of consumer complaints, and display regional agricultural advantages.

The application deadline is May 10 and any individual or enterprise can apply. The finalists will be announced on May 30.
