The Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week commenced in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province on Oct 12.

Huang Qiang, deputy governor of Gansu province was present among the entrepreneurs that had gathered at the opening ceremony to network and seek cooperation opportunities.

Authorities in Gansu have made a special effort to incubate and support startup businesses in the province. Official statistics show that the province has reduced taxes for small-sized businesses by 1.71 billion yuan ($159 million) in the first half of 2016. The province also set aside an employment support fund of 70 million yuan.

The second National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week rolled out in cities across China on Oct 12, with the latest and cutting-edge products on display. Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province serves as the main venue of this year's event.
