Zhangye hosts aviation event

Visitors got opportunities to view aircraft in the city of Zhangye in Gansu province, where more than 70 aircraft were on display from Aug 26 to 28, as part of the first Silk Road International General Aviation Convention which took place at Zhangye’s Danxia General Aviation Airport.

The three-day event saw aerobatic flying displays, a general aviation expo, a summit and forums on aviation development, as well as a signing ceremony for an agreement for exploring Zhangye’s tourism opportunities. The Gansu General Aviation Association was also established.

During the convention, experts discussed issues such as short-distance passenger and cargo transportation, general aviation airport construction and management, the aviation industry, and industrial parks.

The event was organized by the Zhangye city government, Gansu Provincial Highway Aviation Tourism Investment Group Co, and the Chinese Flight Test Establishment.

Zhangye Danxia General Aviation Airport will now host the event annually.

Participants at the event included delegates from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Sports and Aviation Industry Corporation of China, 17 aviation enterprises, and journalists from 26 media organizations.

Guests were also shown around Zhangye city’s economic and technological park, national wetland park and general aviation companies.
