More than 5,000 people participated in a music color run held in Lanzhou University in the city of Lanzhou, Gansu province on May 29 to celebrate youth and express their love for sport.

The participants warmed up under the guidance of gymnasium coaches before the run to reduce injury. Twenty "most beautiful of school" women ushered in the event.

The "color run" is also known as the "Happiest 5km on the Planet", and is a celebration of health, happiness and individuality. It was founded as a worldwide activity in 2011 and took its inspiration from the Hindu festival of Holi, or festival of colors, where Hindu people scatter colored powder onto each other to welcome the start of the New Year.
