Some 18 enterprises from Gansu province, in Northwest China recently inked contracts worth $5 million and cooperation intention agreements worth $15 million on exports and imports with Thailand and Sri Lanka counterparts, according to the Gansu Provincial Commerce Department.

Gansu enterprises signed some contracts at the 2015 ASEAN (Bangkok) China Imports and Export Commodities Fair held in Bangkok from Nov 27-29, and inked others after business enquiries in Sri Lanka.

The 18 Gansu enterprises, including the Nickel-Metropolis Industrial Co located in Jinchang city and the Gansu Meierkang Import and Export Co, are mainly engaging in product R&D and exports and imports.

According to official statistics, the Gansu delegation had eight exhibition booths at the 2015 ASEAN (Bangkok) China Imports and Export Commodities Fair to display products ranging from Chinese herbal medicines and fresh lilies to smart phones and tourism products.

Gansu province particularly promotes the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, so the delegation also brought proprietary Chinese medicine and health care products to the Bangkok fair. Gansu is home to more than 300 kinds of traditional Chinese herbal medicines.
