Wuwei city, in Northwest China's Gansu province, well-known for its high quality wine, opened its wine festival on Sept 15.

A series of wine-related activities will be held during the festival, including a cultural forum, wine exhibition, and investment and signing ceremonies.

Scholars and experts such as Yu Dan, professor of Beijing Normal University and economist Yao Jinyuan took part in the summit forum to discuss Silk Road culture, especially Chinese viniculture and gave advice for boosting the industry.

Wuwei's government and Gansu Wine Industry Association have jointly held the "China Hexi Corridor's Organic Wine Festival" for four successive years. The festival is a significant activity for Gansu province and Wuwei city to publicize and promote organic wine.
