A Taiwan businessmen investigation group visited several cities in Gansu province from July 1-8 to seek cooperative opportunities in the agricultural industry. The visiting group reached 11 investment agreements with their Gansu counterparts, according to gscn.com.cn.

More than 70 experts from agricultural, Chinese medicine and leather industries in Taiwan made up the delegation. Taiwan businessmen were shown around several agricultural projects, including a vegetable cultivation project in Zhangye city, an ecological industrial park in Minle county, a strawberry planting base in Linxia, and a traditional Chinese medicine processing project in Longxi county. They reached cooperation consensuses with business representatives from Gansu in multiple aspects.

Gansu has strengthened its cultural and economic ties with Taiwan in recent years according to a senior official from the Taiwan Affair Office of Gansu Province. So far, more than 300 Taiwan-funded enterprises have registered in Gansu. Tourism development between the two sides has enhanced mutual communication. Statistics show that more than 50,000 Taiwan people traveled to Gansu in 2014, while around 20,000 Gansu residents visited Taiwan.
