Gansu's first youth innovation entrepreneurship competition ends

The finals of Gansu province’s first Youth Innovation Entrepreneurship Competition were held in the city of Lanzhou, Gansu province on Dec 13th, with Gansu Huaxie Agricultural Biotechnology’s biotechnology project winning the Most Valuable Investment Project Award, which received 10 million yuan ($ 1.6 million) of investment funds. Lian Ji, the head of Gansu province’s Publicity Department, and Xia Hongming, the vice-governor of Gansu province, were both on hand to award the winners.

The Gansu province’s Chuangxing Bioengineering Co.’s project of developing the horses and deer industries, and Lanzhou Baiyuan Genetic Technology Co.’s biomedical products development project both won the first prize, with 5 million yuan of investment funds for each.

Gansu province’s first Youth Innovation Entrepreneurship Competition started this September, with China Dragon Securities, headquartered in Lanzhou city, providing a total of 25 million yuan of investment funds to support and encourage people from 18-45 years of age to carry out new business ventures or innovation projects. Since September, more than 130 projects were applied for the investment, and after being evaluated by the organizing committee and experts, 40 projects qualified for the semifinals.

The organizers of the competition were Gansu province’s Finance Department, League Committee, TV station and China Dragon Securities.
