Foreigners get Dunhuang Award

Four foreign experts received the Gansu Dunhuang Award, the province’s highest honor for achievement by a foreigner in the capital city of Lanzhou, recently.

They were recognized as driving forces in economic and social development. Foreign experts have worked in diverse fields and exerted significant influence in Gansu, and they have enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the inland province and the rest of the world, said Deputy Governor Xian Hui during the ceremony.

“Gansu will provide a broad stage for visionary people of the world to bring the talent into full play,” Xian said. He added that the province will upgrade its economy and is dedicated to a steady growth.

Also present at the ceremony were Zhang Zhengfeng, deputy secretary general of the provincial government; Gou Weifan, head of the Gansu Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs; and representatives from foreign expert hosting entities.
