When the 3rd International Culture Industry Summit- 7th Gansu Culture Expo opened in the city of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, on Oct 9, attracted around 500 participants from the United States, Sri Lanka, Australia and many other countries as well as folk artists from Gansu and other provinces who came to paint at the exhibition site.

There was a guest reception, that evening for the foreign participants, Chinese artists, officials, and entrepreneurs, such as the vice-chairman of the Henan provincial CPPCC, Jin Suidong, the vice-Party secretary of Gansu, Ouyang Jian, and personnel from the Culture Ministry and Foreign Affair Ministry.

In addressing the reception, Jain said, “ This 3rd International Summit focuses on how to develop the cultural industry and build a Silk Road Economic Belt as an economic zone connecting China with western Asia. And, the participants have reached culture agreements after some open and fierce discussions. This summit is a great opportunity for Gansu to promote its cultural industry, since it sits on the Silk Road, which runs from central China to western Asia, and the spread of Silk Road culture will increase cooperation with cities and countries near the Silk Road.

In his concluding remarks, Jian said, “Gansu will use this chance to cooperate with other cities and provinces in publicizing culture and put what these experts have suggested, into practice.”
