The second Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Enterprises Cooperation Fair was held on Aug 18, setting the stage for the endorsement of 82 projects and a total investment of 114 billion yuan ($17.16 billion).

The agreed projects covered fields of tourism, IT, finance, headquarter economy, cross-border e-commerce, and modern logistics industries. Among which, there are 11 projects will be carried out cooperation between Pingtan and Taiwan, mainly in areas of shipping logistics and cross-border e-commerce.

Entrepreneurs from countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and Indonesia, regions of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and also from cities in Fujian province participated in the fair.

Pingtan has many economic advantages in particular due to its closeness to Taiwan, favorable policies, and government support. Many policies are conducive for enterprises to be able to have a bright future in the zone, said Zhang Zhinan, vice governor of Fujian province.

Pingtan has improved its infrastructure services and formed an effective management system over the past five years. It has grown into a showcase for Fujian to cooperate with Taiwan, and also for China’s opening up to the outside world.

The fair is expected to play a positive role in Pingtan’s development and act as a platform for economic and trade exchanges and the sharing of nationwide resources.
