A delegation from the Association of Taiwan's Financial Institutions in Hong Kong led by its head, Tang Yiyuan, visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province on June 19.
The delegates included leaders from 19 of Taiwan's commercial banks, investment banks, securities firms, and other institutions, who wanted to learn about Pingtan's investment environment and seek cooperation there.
Xie Xiutong, member of PCPZ's Party working committee, welcomed the delegates and introduced the zone's latest development to them. Xie said that Pingtan has lots of preferential policies and expected the delegates would want to invest in the zone.
He also hoped that they would bring their experience to the zone and contribute to its further development.
The delegates found Pingtan's current growth momentum and preferential policies quite appealing and expressed their intention to cooperate with Pingtan and help develop stronger economic ties between it and their own areas.
The delegates also went to see the Pingtan Closure project, an integrated customs supervision and management system, Taiwan Innovation Park and the Aoqian High-Speed Passenger Terminal to gain a better understanding of the zone's economic and cultural cooperation with Taiwan.
