A delegation from the TaiYen, also known as Taiwan Salt Industrial Corporation led by its president Yang Qiu-Xing came to Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province on Feb 18 to seek economic cooperation, ptnet.cn reported.

Zhang Zhaomin, secretary of PCPZ's Party working committee met with the delegates and said that Pingtan has the most preferential policies for people of Taiwan who want to work or start business in the county. Zhang further mentioned that, thanks to its proximity to Taiwan, Pingtan got status as an experimental area for cross-Straits cooperation.

The county is working on building a "Common Homeland" for people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits and creating better business environment, so as to attract more talented personnel from Taiwan, said Zhang.

The secretary also vowed full support to Taiwan companies that intended to expand business in Pingtan, since he considered this to be win-win situation for both sides and conducive to enhancing cross-Straits cooperation.

Yang Qiu-Xing said that Pingtan's preferential policies, which can help Taiwan companies enter the mainland's market are quite appealing to Taiwan entrepreneurs.

Since TaiYen is also planning expansion on the mainland, he expected the two parties to reach a deal on economic cooperation. The president also promised to promote Pingtan's preferential policies among Taiwan young people who harbor entrepreneurial dreams.
